Xherdan Shaqiri is glad to rejoin forces with Mohamed Salah
New Liverpool signing Xherdan Shaqiri was full of praise for the Egyptian King Mohamed Salah following his outstanding form last season.
Liverpool acquired the Swiss international for £13 million from Stoke City.
Both Salah and Shaqiri used to play at Basel, playing together for a very short time.
Speaking in an interview with Liverpool FC’s website, the 26-year-old said: “I’m very happy for him that he had this beautiful season because he is a very nice guy, a good guy.
“The most important thing is for the club to work and he had an amazing season. Players are always sad when they don’t win trophies but hopefully we can do it this year.” Shaqiri concluded
The new winger can only hope to replicate Salah’s form from last season. The Egyptian netted 44 goals last season, leading Liverpool to the UEFA Champions League Final.
Liverpool have gotten most of their transfer dealings done early, as in addition to Shaqiri, the Reds have acquired Fabinho and Nabi Keita.
Liverpool have already started their pre-season, and Mohamed Salah will join the team for their US tour.
The Premier League will kick-off next August and Liverpool will face West Ham in their opening game on Sunday the 12th day of the month.
