OFFICIAL: Zamalek sign Petrojet defender Mohamed Abdel-Salam

Zamalek have confirmed the signing of Petrojet promising defender for a reported fee of 4.5 million EGP.

Abdel-Salam has agreed to move to the Whites and put pen to paper on a five-year contract that will keep him at the club until 2022.

The Whites wanted to strengthen their defensive area following the departure of Ali Gabr, Mohamed Magdy, and Islam Gamal to Pyramids, Ismaily, and Tala’a El-Gaish respectively.

Abdel-Salam is a product of Wadi Degla’s youth academy before making the move to Petrojet in 2016, playing two seasons for the petroleum club.

He made only nine appearances during his time at Petrojet, with eight of the nine coming in second-half of last season. He also managed to score two goals against Ittihad of Alexandria and Entag El-Harby.

The 20-year old has become Zamalek’s seventh signing of the summer, after the Whites secured the services of Ibrahim Hassan, Mohamed Hassan, Bahaa Magdy, Omar El-SaidHamid Ahadad and Emad El-Sayed.
