Hossam Hassan praises Al Masry after RS Berkane draw
Al-Masry snatched a valuable point against the Moroccan side Renaissance Sportive de Berkane in the third round of the Confederation Cup’s group stages to secure their position at second place.
The match which took place in the Stade Municipal de Berkane on Wednesday evening, ended in a goalless draw which gave the hosts a seven-point lead to maintain their position as group leaders. On the other hand, Al Masry secured second place with a total of five points after two draws and a win.
Al-Masry reached the group stages for the first time in their history after beating the Congolese side CF Mounana in the tournament’s round of 32 with a total aggregate of 3-2 overall.
In a press conference held after the match, Al Masry’s manager, Hossam Hassan, praised his team’s performance as well as the Moroccan people’s warm welcome to the Egyptian side. He also stated that his team was able to come up with a positive outcome by dealing with the match according to some decisive factors.
“The absence of some players affected our game massively,” He added. “Al Masry fans deserve from everyone in the team to exert more effort to achieve their ambitions and desires”.
The two teams will play once more in the Stadium of Port Said in the fourth round of the group stages to snatch their qualification ticket for the next round.
In the same group, the Sudanese Al Hilal drew with UD Songo (2-2), making the Sudanese team come in third place with just two points, while the Mozambican side tails the group with just one point.
