Egyptian star is set to receive a $450k payoff from the after his contract was waived prematurely.

The 24 year old joined the Celtics in 2017 but failed to make his mark there during the last season in which they reached the Eastern Conference finals before eventually losing to Lebron James’ Cleveland Cavaliers.

During his time in Boston, Nader averaged 3 points per game during the regular season and 1.1 points per game during the playoffs, and although he had limited playing time to bring those stats down it is clear to see why the Celtics feel that he is surplus to requirements.

Nader’s contract situation is not the only piece of business the Celtics are undertaking currently, as they are also subject to a lot of speculation about the future of star player Kyrie Irving, although it appears he may be staying in Boston for now at least.

As a result of having his contract waived, Nader will also receive $450,000 payout however he could have potentially earnt his full salary for next season of $1.4 million if his contract was waived in August or later.
