Mahmoud Shikabala left out of Zamalek pre-season squad

Zamalek manager Christian Gross has named a 30-man squad for the Whites’ final pre-season camp ahead of the start of the new season.

The Whites’ last training camp will be held in the Fifth Settlement, Cairo and will see the club play two friendlies against El-Gouna and Entag El-Harby.

Gross announced the 30-man squad that will take part in the camp as Zamalek prepare for their opening game of the season against Petrojet on Tuesday, July 31.

New signings Omar El-Said, Hamid Ahaddad, Mohamed Hassan, and Ibrahim Hassan have all been named in the squad as well as Mahmoud Kahraba, who returned from his loan spell at Ittihad Jeddah.

The most notable omission is , who is close to leaving the club on loan, with Ahmed Refaat, Mohamed Ashraf, and Emad Fathi also failing to make the squad.

Shikabala being left out by Gross could mean that the winger’s time at the club is over, with Ismaily and a number of Gulf clubs interested in signing him.

Full squad:

Goalkeepers: Emad El-Sayed, Mahmoud Gennesh, Omar Salah.

Defenders: 
Hazem Emam, Hamdi Nagguez, Mohamed Abdelghany, Mahmoud Hamdy, Mahmoud Alaa, Bahaa Magdy, Ahmed Fetouh, Mohamed Abdel-Salam, Moruf Yusuf, Mohamed Camacho.

Midfielders: Mahmoud Dunga, Youssef Obama, Mohamed Antar, Mohamed Ibrahim, Ahmed Madbouli, Abdallah Gomaa, Mahmoud Abdel-Aziz, Tarek Hamed, Ayman Hefny, Ibrahim Hassan, Mahmoud Kahraba, Mohamed Hassan, Mostafa Fathi.

Forwards: Kasongo Kabongo, Omar El-Said, Hamid Ahaddad, Mostafa Mohamed.
