Egypt finish sixth in 2018 Sitting Volleyball World Championships
The Egyptian men’s national sitting volleyball team have lost to Russia to finish sixth in the 2018 Sitting Volleyball World Championships.
The men of Egypt’s national team finished in sixth place, after losing to Russia 3-0 in the fifth place decider. The game ended in straight sets, with Russia winning 25-21, 25-22, 25-13.
Iran won the title after beating Bosnia and Herzegovina 3-0 (25-18, 25-13, 25-20) in the final, while Brazil claimed the bronze medal with a tough 3-0 victory (28-26, 25-23, 27-25) over Ukraine.
Meanwhile, the Egyptian women’s team finished in 15th place only ahead of Croatia. Russia won their first-ever title after beating the United States 3-1 (25-18, 25-27, 24-26, 24-26) in the final, while China defeated Italy to the bronze medal with a 3-0 win.
The tournament was held in Netherlands between July 15 and July 22 and saw the participation of the best 16 men’s and 16 women’s teams.
