Ismaily lose to Sfaxien on penalties in Selala international tournament



After a 1-1 draw at full time, Ismaily loses 12-11 on penalties to Tunisian side CS Sfaxien in Selala international tournament in Oman.

Sfaxien opened the scoresheet in the 11th minute from a close range shot through King Sokari, after the Ismaily defenders failed to clear the ball from a corner kick.

In the 41st minute, El Daraweesh were awarded a penalty after Cameroonian striker Christopher Mendouga was tripped by the Sfaxien goalkeeper in the box. Ismaily’s new signing, Saad Jaziri sent the goalkeeper the wrong way, scoring his first ever goal for the club.

The match ended in a 1-1 draw and proceeded straight to penalties. Egypt international Essam El-Hadary managed to save two penalties, but Ismaily missed three, one of which El-Hadary sent wide.

Ismaily is set to face Champions, Al Ahly, in their first fixture of the 2018-2019 Egyptian Premier League, which will take place on August 2nd.
