Egypt’s Mahmoud Fawzy Rashad appears to switch allegiance to USA after fall out with Egyptian Wrestling Federation
Egypt’s Greco-Roman wrestler Mahmoud Fawzy Rashad appears to be ready to represent the United States after posting a picture of himself wearing the US shirt.
Rashad has been suspended by the Egyptian Wrestling Federation and was subject to investigation after a video published on his Facebook page where he accuses the federation of persecution against him in order to do a favour to the head of Youth and Sports committee in Egyptian Parliament, Farag Amer.
The 26-year-old stated that he was named the best Greco-Roman wrestler in 2017 and claimed that he was kept out of the world championship after the Egyptian federation registered the son of one of Amer’s friends.
However, the Smouha president categorically refuted Rashad’s accusations, announcing that he will denounce him for his lies.
On Tuesday, Rashad posted a picture of himself in the US outfit which indicates that he earned the American citizenship.
““It’s all about the journey, see you in Tokyo 2020 God willing,” Rashad mentioned in his Facebook post.
