Chelsea legend has revealed that Liverpool star was the toughest opponent among the few Egyptian players he faced throughout his professional career.

Terry has faced Salah on few occasions when Chelsea faced Basel in the Champions League, where the Egypt hero represented the Swiss side, before they later on became teammates when Salah joined Chelsea in January 2014.

The former Aston Villa central defender also faced the likes of Ahmed Hossam Mido and Amr Zaki in his meetings against Tottenham Hotspur and Wigan Athletic, respectively.

“I have faced Mido on multiple occasions. It was always tough to play against him,” Terry told Pyramids TV.

“We had strong defenders [at Chelsea] back then. However, for me I have to say that Mohamed Salah was the toughest. He is playing great football whether now and when he was playing at Chelsea, competing against him is difficult.”
