Al Ahly boss Patrice Carteron speaks ahead of Al Masry clash
Al Ahly head coach Patrice Carteron assured that his team’s next match against Al Masry in the second round of the Egyptian Premier League will be extremely tough.
After snatching a last-minute equaliser against Ismaily in the in their opening game in the league, the Red Devils are getting ready for another tough challenge when they face Al Masry on Tuesday, August 7.
“We respect all opponents and as I said before, all our matches in all competitions are going to be hard, especially that all our opponents do their best when they face Al Ahly,” he told the club’s official website.
“Al Masry is a special club that I am carefully following. I saw a number of their games, whether their opening game against El-Gouna or their games against RSB Berkane in the CAF Confederation Cup,” Carteron said. “They are a team that I respect and have special players in their squad on a technical and physical level.”
The French coach also praised Al Masry’s coaching staff led by Hossam Hassan and said that he spoke with his players about how hard this match will be.
“I trust my players’ abilities to grab their first win in the league this season,” he added. “I talked with the players about avoiding the mistakes we did in Ismaily match like chances we wasted in the first half that could have been enough to change the way the game went.”
