Rachid Ghezzal joins Leicester City from AS Monaco

Premier League side, Leicester City, has reached an agreement with AS Monaco for the transfer of Algerian International, Rachid Ghezzal, for an undisclosed fee.

After spending almost 13 years with the club between the youth sector sides and first team, Ghezzal left Ligue 1 side, Olympique Lyonnais last year at the end of his contract , to join on a four-year-deal.

Ghezzal will be City’s 5th summer signing after Johnny Evans, James Madison, Ricardo Periera and Danny ward and will be reunited with his former manager at Olympique Lyonnais, Claude Puel.

Speaking to LCFC TV, Ghezzal stated, ““I’m very excited and very happy to be here. I know the coach from Lyon and this is where I want to be. It’s a good Club and an ambitious one too. has many great players and I hope we will have a great season.”

The 26-year-old has 17 caps with Les Rouges et Blancs and was part of the national team squad in the 2017 African Cup of Nations at Gabon.
