Al Masry’s Eslam Salah tears his Anterior Cruciate Ligament
Al Masry center-back Eslam Salah was diagnosed with a torn Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) after undergoing medical tests on Wednesday, keeping him off the pitch for the next six months.
The 27-year-old captain has been dealt a harsh blow during Al Masry’s second match in the league against Al Ahly on Tuesday.
Salah was carried off the field to get the medical help needed in the 67th minute. There were no substitutions remaining, so the Port-Said club played with 10 men during the last 25 minutes of the match.
“Our substitutions were made in consideration of the course of the game, we could’ve gotten back into the game but we played with 10 men during 25 minutes after Eslam Salah’s injury, 25 minutes against Al Ahly is a lot,” Hossam said.
This injury is a major blow to Hossam Hassan’s side, who will be looking to prepare one of his two players: Islam Abou-Salima or Ahmed Gouda to fill in for the injured center-back.
Al Masry currently lie in sixth place in the league with 3 points and are set to travel on August 14th to face Petrojet.
