Al Ahly: No official offers received for Nasser Maher
Al Ahly director of football Mohamed Youssef has stressed that the club have not received any official bids for first team starlet Nasser Maher amid reports of interest from Udinese and Villarreal.
Maher had spent his last two seasons on loan at Egyptian Premier League outfits Petrojet and Smouha respectively. His real spark took place last year with the Alexandria-based club.
Despite the reports, Al Ahly director of football confirmed that the club have not received any formal offers from Udinese or Villarreal for the 21-year-old playmaker, clearing that the football committee at the club will only consider official bids without taking any talks with agents into account.
It is worth noting that Villarreal invited Nasser Maher to spend a 10-day trial period last year, and even approached Al Ahly to sign the midfielder, but both teams couldn’t reach an agreement.
Maher has featured for Al Ahly in their first two league games against Ismaily and Al Masry from the start, what could indicate that the Red Devils coach Patrice Carteron trust Al Ahly’s youth product.
