Pyramids coach: Players in Egyptian League waste time from the first minute
Pyramids had managed to avoid their first defeat when they faced Entag El Harby in the second round of the Egyptian Premier League. Mohamed Ragab opened the score line for Entag in the 43rd minute, before Keno leveled things for Pyramids in the 75th minute.
“The Egyptian league is very weird and players always tend to waste time from the first minute but are not warned by the match official. Things are totally different in Brazil,” Valentim said in post-match press conference.
“Our performance improved compared to ENPPI match. We were the better team and held ball possession more but we conceded after a blatant mistake and wasted the opportunity to win the game. We will try to fix the issues in the coming period ahead of our next game.”
“The Brazilian quartet in the team plays because they are more match fit than the rest of players. There could be changes in the lineup in the coming period according to the circumstances surrounding each game. We had little time before the start of the league for preparations but the players are implementing the requested instructions.”
Pyramids were victorious in their league opening game thanks to Mohamed Magdy Afsha’s last-gasp free kick goal against ENPPI. They will face Tala’a El-Gaish on the 14th of August in the third round.
