Al Ahly midfielder Amr El-Sulaya to miss Nejmeh SC clash
The Red Devils are set to face Lebanon’s Nejmeh SC in Borg Al Arab stadium on August 13 in the first leg of the first round of the Arab Club Championship as they commence their third tournament of the season.
Amr El-Sulaya however was announced unfit for the clash as the 29-year-old is still suffering from a hamstring strain. The club’s medical team decided to let the player rest to not affect his current healing progress.
The former Ismaily player was injured during Al Ahly’s match against Al Masry in the second round of the Egyptian Premier League. He was forced off the field as he was not able to continue the game.
Al Ahly will be looking for a better showing at the annual competition between Arab teams after losing to Jordanian side Al Faisaly in the semi-final last year. This year’s edition has a different format with no group stages and all two leg matches.
