Burkina Faso’s Prejuce Nakoulma leaves FC Nantes by mutual consent
The 31-year-old forward has joined Nantes in January 2017, but injuries hampered his time with the club as he managed to score only nine goals in 29 appearances.
Just hours before the Ligue 1 kick-off, FC Nantes and the player have agreed to go their separate ways, with the club wishing the player “all the very best for his future career”.
Nakoulma, who joined Nantes after spells in Poland and Turkey, has been linked with a return to Turkish football, having previously played for Mersin Idmanyurdu and Kayserispor.
He has also played for Polish sides Hetman Zamosc, Stal Stalowa Wola, Gornik Leczna, Widzew Lodz, and Górnik Zabrze between 2007 and 2012.
On the international level, Prejuce Nakoulma has been capped over 50 times by Burkina Faso, scoring 13 goals, with his first one coming against Benin in 2012.
He played a vital role in guiding the Stallions to the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations final, which they lost to Nigeria. The forward has also helped his country finish third in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.
