Al Ahly name squad for Espérance de Tunis clash


Al Ahly manager Patrice Carteron has named his 23-man squad that will face Espérance Sportive de Tunis in the on Friday.

Al Ahly are currently second in group A with seven points, three behind Tunisian side Espérance, while Township Rollers, and Kampala City sit third and fourth with three points.

The Red Devils will face Espérance Sportive de Tunis on Friday, August 17 away from home, with a win would ensure the Reds’ place in the quarter-finals.

The squad saw the inclusion of Nasser Maher and Akram Tawfik, who were registered in the squad on Tuesday, as well as Karim Nedved, Islam Mohareb, and Ahmed Hamdy.

On the other hand, Momen Zakaria, Phakamani Mahlambi, and Sabry Rahil, were axed from the squad due to technical reasons, while Junior Ajayi, Bassem Ali, and Hossam Ashour were left out for injury/suspension.

Full squad:

Goalkeepers: Sherif Ekramy, Mohamed El-Shennawy, Ali Lotfi

Defenders: Ayman Ashraf, Saad Samir, Mohamed Naguib, Mohamed Hany, Ahmed Fathi, Salif Coulibaly, and Ali Maaloul.

Midfielders: Karim ‘Nedved’, Akram Tawfik, Hesham Mohamed, Nasser Maher, Ahmed Hamoudi, Walid Soliman, Ahmed Hamdy, Mido Gaber, Amr El-Sulaya, and Islam Mohareb.

Forwards: Salah Mohsen, Marwan Mohsen, Walid Azaro.
