Salah referred to police after using phone while driving
Liverpool star Mohamed Salah might come in for punishment after appearing to operate his mobile device behind the wheel.
The Reds have alerted the Merseyside Police about a viral video of Mohamed Salah using his mobile phone while driving.
The incident allegedly took place following Liverpool’s comfortable 4-0 win over West Ham in their English Premier League opener, where the Egypt international broke the deadlock for his side.
A footage went viral on Twitter of the 26-year-old winger’s car surrounded by dozen of fans calling for his attention, but the player continued to focus on his mobile phone before wheeling away from the traffic.
“The club, after discussion with the player, have made Merseyside Police aware of the footage and the circumstances surrounding it’s capture,” A Liverpool spokesman told Liverpool ECHO.
“We have spoken to the player also and will deal with any follow-up internally. Neither the club or player will be making any further comment on this matter,” they added.
