OFFICIAL: Chisom Chikatara joins El-Gouna from Wydad Casablanca
The 2016 CHAN top scorer has signed a two-year contract at El-Gouna, which will keep him at the club until 2020, becoming the club’s 19th summer signing.
Chikatara emerged as a target for Zamalek in 2016 after the CHAN tournament, but he moved to Wydad Casablanca and Zamalek signed Zambia striker Emmanuel Mayuka instead.
During his time in Morocco, Chikatara scored only twice in 19 games and has won the 2017 CAF Champions League title, CAF Super Cup, and the league title.
El-Gouna have now completed their foreign quota, with the Nigerian becoming their fourth foreign player alongside Cameroon international Joseph Ngwem, Gatoch Panom of Ethiopia, and Ivory Coast’s Abdoulaye Coulibaly.
They are currently ninth in the Egyptian Premier League with four points from three games, and their next game will be against Entag El-Harby on Sunday, August 26.
