OFFICIAL: Gervinho joins Serie A newcomers Parma on free transfer
The 31-year-old becomes the Serie A newcomers’ 25th summer signing and his contract will keep him tied to the club until 2021.
Gervinho has joined Parma after spending two-and-a-half years in China with Hebei China Fortune, where managed to score only four goals and assisted nine in 29 games.
He has not featured for the team since Chris Coleman was named his club’s manager in June and has decided to make a return to the Serie A to get more playing time.
Gervinho has started his career at JMG Abidjan, before moving to Belgian side KSK Beveren and then FC Le Mans.
His career saw a turning point when he moved to French side LOSC Lille in 2009, where he won the domestic double in 2011, and his impressive performances with the club earned him a move to Premier League giants Arsenal.
The winger featured for Arsenal from 2011 to 2013, scoring 11 goals in 63 games, before joining AS Roma, where he spent three seasons, scoring 26 in 88 games.
On the international level, Gervinho has been capped 84 times by Ivory Coast, scoring 22 goals and was part of the team that won the 2015 AFCON.
