Ragnar Klavan reveals Mohamed Salah convinced him to join Cagliari
Former Liverpool defender Ragnar Klavan has revealed that Salah, Alisson, and Lovren has helped him make the decision to move to Cagliari.
The 32-year-old has joined Serie A side Cagliari from Liverpool on Italian football’s deadline day after spending two years at the Reds.
He moved for a fee around £2 million after falling down the pecking order at Liverpool following the arrival of Virgil van Dijk last January.
And the Estonian defender has revealed that trio Mohamed Salah, Alisson, and Dejan Lovern have helped persuade him to join the Serie A.
“I had offers from several teams, including in other countries, but Cagliari really wanted me,” Klavan told Sky Sport Italia.
“Darijo Srna advised me to come here, as I talked to him via Dejan Lovren. Other Liverpool teammates like Alisson, Salah, and Lucas Leiva all spoke highly of Serie A.
“I’m certain we’ll do great things here and I am really fired up. The city is wonderful and so are the fans, I can’t wait to get started,” he added.
During his two-year stay at Liverpool, Klavan made 53 appearances for Liverpool, scoring twice as he helped the club reach the UEFA Champions League final as well as two consecutive top-four finishes.
