have beaten Galatasaray to the signing of young Nigerian midfielder from Yeni Malatyaspor in the Turkish League.

With Ribamar moving to Ohod in the Saudi League, Pyramids FC had a foreign player slot available. As such, Hossam El Badry and co have decided to make a move for Okechukwu Azubuike – a Nigerian defensive minded box to box midfielder who had been plying his trade for Yeni Malatyaspor.

Galatasaray had been on the lookout for defensive reinforcements especially with Jason Denayer leaving the club, however it appears that they will have to look elsewhere as Pyramids have beaten them to Azubuike.

Pyramids are currently undergoing their first transitional period since being created this summer, with their first manager Alberto Valentim leaving due to star forward Ribamar being sent to the Saudi League by Turki Al Sheikh, and Azubuike being the leader of a formidable midfield could be a pivotal part of that.

While Azubuike only has one cap for the Nigeria senior team, his biggest exposure on the world stage was in the 2016 Olympics Men’s Football tournament in which he was part of the Nigeria side which received a bronze medal overall, having lost to a strong Germany side in the semi final.

Pyramids’ next game is against El Dakhleya on August 26th at 6:15PM Egyptian time.
