Ahmed Hegazi – West Brom (England)
August 24 – Championship – Ahmed Hegazy played the full 90 minutes as Middlesbrough defeated West Bromwich Albion 1-0 in the fifth fixture of the Championship, thanks to Daniel Ayala’s late goal. Following the loss, West Brom sit seventh with seven points and are set to face Mansfield Town on August 28 in the EFL Cup.
Sam Morsy – Wigan Athletic (England)
August 25 – Championship – Sam Morsy played the full 90 minutes in his team’s 1-0 loss against Queens Park Rangers in the fifth fixture of the Championship. Tomer Hemed’s goal in the 35th minute secured the full three points for the home side. Following the match, Wigan occupy the 12th league spot with seven points and are set to face Rotherham United on September 1.
Mohamed Elneny – Arsenal (England)
August 25 – Premier League – Egypt international midfielder Mohamed Elneny remained as an unused substitute as Arsenal defeated West Ham United 3-1 in the third fixture of the English Premier League. Following the win, Arsenal sit 12th with three points and are set to face Cardiff City on September 2.
Ramadan Sobhi – Huddersfield Town (England)
August 25 – Premier League – Egypt international Ramadan Sobhi was left out of the Huddersfield Town squad to face Cardiff City due to a training injury. Following this draw, Huddersfield Town earned their first point of the season, leaving them in 18th place. They will face Stoke City in their next game in the Carabao Cup.
August 25 – Greek Super League – Bassem Morsy featured as Larissa earned a 1-0 away win over Mahmoud Abdel-Razik Shikabala’s Apollon Smyrni in the Greek Super League opener. Miloš Deletić scored the game’s only goal on the half-hour mark to help Larissa collect the three points at the Georgios Kamaras Stadium. Morsy was included in the starting line-up before making way for Nikos Karanikas in the 69th minute, while Shikabala was left out of the squad. Larissa will next face Aris on September 2 in gameweek 2, while Apollon Smyrni will play against Levadiakos F.C. on September 3.
