Reports: Karim Hafez on the verge of joining İstanbul Başakşehir
Egypt international Karim Hafez is on his way to complete his transfer to Turkish Super Lig club İstanbul Başakşehir on loan from Wadi Degla.
Hafez made a return to Egypt after spending five years at Belgian club Lierse, joining again his former club Wadi Degla in the Egyptian Premier League.
Since joining Lierse he spent one year at the club ranks before joining Cyprus’ Omonia Nicosia on season-long loan in 2014 before spending a two-year loan stint at Ligue 2 club Lens where he arguably had his most flourishing spell abroad.
It doesn’t look that the player returned to Degla to stay, as reports from France Football confirmed that the 22-year-old left back is set to join İstanbul Başakşehir on one-year loan with an option to make the deal permanent.
Turkish renowned newspaper Sabah stated that Hafez is bound to arrive in Istanbul to undergo his medical for the Turkish outfit.
Hafez was in Egypt’s initial squad for the 2018 World Cup in Russia but couldn’t make the cut for the final 23-man squad which was chosen by former head coach Hector Cuper.
