Pharaohs Abroad Roundup: Hegazi features as West Brom defeat Stoke City

Sam Morsy – Wigan Athletic (England)
September 1 – Championship – Egypt’s Sam Morsy played the full 90 minutes as Wigan defeated Rotherham United 1-0 in the sixth fixture of the Championship. James Vaughan’s goal secured the three points for the home side. Following the win, Wigan occupy the eighth league spot with ten points and are set to face Brentford on September 15.
Ahmed Hegazi – West Bromwich Albion (England)
September 1 – Championship – Ahmed Hegazi featured as West Bromwich Albion defeated Stoke City 2-1 in the sixth fixture of the Championship. Dwight Gayle scored a brace for the Baggies to win the full three points. Following the win, West Brom occupy the seventh league spot with 10 points and will face Birmingham City on September 14.
Ramadan Sobhi – Huddersfield Town (England)
September 1 – Premier League – Ramadan Sobhi was excluded from squad due to a knee injury as Huddersfield Town drew 1-1 against Everton in the fourth fixture of the Premier League. Philip Billing took the lead for the Terriers in the 34th minute, but the Toffees responded quickly as Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored the leveler just two minutes later. Following the match, Huddersfield occupy the 17th league spot with two points and are set to face Crystal Palace on September 15.
Ahmed Elmohamady – Aston Villa (England)
September 1 – Championship – Ahmed Elmohamady featured for the whole match as Aston Villa were thrashed 4-1 by Sheffield United. Jack O’Connell opened the scoring after heading home in the 6th minute. Minutes later, Duffy scored the second goal from long range making it harder for Aston Villa. Norwood scored a great free-kick for Sheffield to make it 3-0 before the half-time whistle. As the second half started, Billy scored to make it 4-0 to the hosts. Minutes later Anwar El Ghazi pulled one back for Aston Villa but it wasn’t enough to mount the comeback. Aston Villa’s next match will be against Blackburn away on September 15.
Mohamed Abdel-Shafy – Al Ahli (Saudi Arabia)
September 1 – Saudi Pro League – Mohamed Abdel-Shafy played the full 90 minutes as Al Ahli settled for a 1-1 draw with Al Taawoun at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in the Saudi Pro League opener. Léandre Tawamba opened the scoring for the guests after 24 minutes and Housain Al-Moqahwi levelled the scoreline after the break. Al Ahli will next face Ohod on September 14.
Amro Tarek – Orlando City (USA)
September 1 – MLS – Amro Tarek remained on the bench as Orlando City drew 2-2 against Philadelphia Union in the 27th fixture of the MLS. Orlando earned one point to occupy the 20th league spot with 24 points and are set to face Sporting Kansas City on September 9.
