Mamdouh wins Trophée des Champions with Montpellier

Egypt international and ’s forward, Mohamed Mamdouh, was crowned champion of the Trophée des Champions with French side, Montpellier.

Montpellier were crowned champions for the third time in their history after defeating Saint-Raphaël 32-27, winning their first title of the season.

Saint-Raphaël were the stronger side at the beginning of the match, with a 3-1 lead; however, Montpellier reacted quickly and took control of the match until they ended the first half with a 17-14 lead.

The European Champions came back in the second half with the same dominating attitude and managed to keep the lead until the end of the match.

This is Mamdouh’s second title with the French side after winning the European Handball Champions League title last season.

The Egyptian extended his contract with the club this summer for one more season after joining them on-loan last December to replace Ludovic Fabregas.
