Al Ahly drawn with Guinea’s Horoya in Champions League quarterfinals

Egypt giants Al Ahly have been drawn with Guinean champions in the draw that was held for the quarterfinals.

Al Ahly had finished their campaign in the African competitions Group A as group winners after pulling off an impressive comeback, winning their last four encounters after collecting only one point from the first two to occupy the leadership with 13 points.

Meanwhile Horoya ended as Group C runner ups behind title holders Wydad Casablanca with nine points from their six played games.

The Red Devils will face Horoya at Stade du 28 Septembre in Guinea on September 14/15, with the return leg set to take place in Egypt on the 21st/22nd of September.

In the case of surpassing Horoya, Patrice Carteron’s men would play against the winner from ES Setif and Wydad Casablanca, which could be a replication of last year’s final showdown.

The semifinal ties will take place on 2nd and 23rd of November, while the final will be held on 2nd and 9th of November.
