VIDEO: Salah scoops Liverpool’s Goal of the Month award for August
Mohamed Salah’s effort against Brighton has been voted as Liverpool’s August Goal of the Month, the club have announced on Wednesday.
Salah has seized the trophy after entering the competition with three goals, his first goal of the EPL season in the 4-0 victory over West Ham, the pre-season one against Napoli, and his quick finish in Brighton’s 1-0 win.
The Egyptian competed with Sadio Mane’s rapid counter-attack against Crystal Palace, which was assisted by Salah, and Albert Moreno’s stunning strike against Napoli.
However, Salah’s goal against Brighton received the most votes, with his strike against Napoli coming second, and Moreno’s powerful finish against the Italian side occupying the third place.
Mohamed Salah has won the award numerous times last season, as well as being named as the club’s player of the month seven times. He also claimed the Player of the Season trophy.
The 26-year-old, who chose to stay with the Reds for one more season, has started his season with two goals and two assists in the club’s opening four league games.
His next encounter is a tough one against Tottenham at Wembley, but first, he will face Niger with the Pharaohs in the 2019 AFCON qualifiers on September 9.
