OFFICIAL: Ahmed Akaichi rejoins Etoile du Sahel for third stint
The 29-year-old has spent the last two seasons at Ittihad Jeddah, joining them from Etoile du Sahel, however, the Saudi side had to release him after the arrival of Romarinho and Aleksandar Pesic.
Akaichi scored 22 goals and provided 12 assists in 49 games with Ittihad, helping them lift the Crown Prince Cup and King Cup.
He has now agreed to return to Tunisia to sign for Etoile du Sahel, whom he represented 83 times before and won the Tunisian league with in 2016.
Etoile du Sahel are currently fourth in the Tunisian Ligue 1 and their next game will be against rivals Esperance in the quarter-finals of the CAF Champions League.
The forward has started his career at Club Africain Tunis, before moving to ES Sahel in 2008, where his performances attracted the eyes of German side FC Ingolstadt, who signed him in 2011.
He spent only two years in Germany, before signing for ES Sahel’s arch-rivals Esperance, and was then allowed to rejoin Etoile du Sahel for a second stint in 2015, before moving to Saudi Arabia a year later.
