In a repeat of the senior 2018 World Cup Group A match up, Egypt’s U23 side travelled to Khimki in Moscow to face Russia’s U21 team.
After an uneventful first half, Vladislav Panteleyev opened the scoring for the hosts not long into the second half with a superbly placed free kick.
However, the lead did not last for long as Egypt equalised when Karim El-Earki found Taher Mohamed who made no mistake, showing why Arab Contractors have put so much faith in him this season.
Egypt will now focus on attempting to qualify for the 2020 Summer Olympics, as they host the 2019 U23 AFCON which will serve as qualification for the games in Tokyo.
