Niger Coach: I supported Egypt in the World Cup

In the pre-match conference, Niger head coach, Francois Zahoui, talks about his support to Egypt during the 2018 World Cup.

Egypt will be facing  on Saturday, September 8 in the second round of the  at Borg Al Arab Stadium.

“I was supporting Egypt during the 2018 World Cup and I was disappointed when they lost against Portugal in their pre-World Cup friendly. They are a very strong side and facing will certainly be very tough,”- said Zahoui.

He added, “Egypt has one of the top three best players in the world, which is enough to tell you how strong they are.”

On the FIFA world’s best player vote, Zahoui stated, “I will give my vote to Salah as the best player. He is an African player and has had a fantastic season with Liverpool.”

Egypt are targeting to qualify to the upcoming 2019 AFCON which is set to take place in Cameroon. The Pharaohs were drawn in the qualifiers Group J along with Tunisia, Niger and Swaziland.

Egypt had suffered a 0-1 defeat in their group opening game against Tunisia at Rades last year and hope to get back on track in the group.
