Ramos insists he never had harmful intentions against Salah
Spain and Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos has reiterated that he has never had any harm intentions against an opponent, stating that he is not concerned with potential backlash from English fans at Wembley stadium when they face England on Saturday.
One of the turning points in Real Madrid’s 3-1 win over Liverpool in this year’s Champions League final was Ramos hauling down Salah and causing the Egyptian star to end his season in tears as he was forced off due to injury.
Spain are currently in London as they prepare to initiate their campaign in UEFA Nations League against England.
“I’m not really concerned about the fans reaction. I never wanted to hurt a colleague on the pitch, of course, so my conscience is really clear about what I did that night,” Ramos said in pre-match press conference.
“I’m not going to be affected by that at all. I know the English fans will treat players as they deserve and I’m not worried about that in the slightest.”
