Egypt defender Ahmed Hegazi: It was important to start strong
Ahmed Hegazi will be missing Egypt’s next qualifier against Swaziland due to an accumulation of yellow cards as he picked up a booking in both AFCON qualifiers against Tunisia and Niger.
“There is a new coaching staff, that alone is important. This will be a new start for us,” Hegazi told ON Sport TV channel. “All of our players are special and it was important to start strong to prove ourselves.
“We talked and supported the new players to increase their confidence.”
Egypt will face off against Swaziland at home on October 10th, before travelling down south for the return leg three days later.
