Aly Ghazal: Happy to return to the national team

After being excluded for four years from the national team squad, Vancouver Whitecaps player expressed his happiness returning to the Pharaohs as he took part in ’s 6-0 victory over in the 2019 AFCON qualifiers.

In his first appearance since 2014, Aly Ghazal was able to grab the attention of head coach Javier Aguirre who chose the Whitecaps midfielder as the team’s best player during their qualifier against Niger.

“I’ve been playing as a midfielder for a while and this changed my playing style, that’s why coach Javier Aguirre chose me to play alongside Mohamed Elneny and Tarek Hamed,” Ghazal told ON Sport TV channel.

“Winning is the most important thing in such games. We were aiming to secure a big win over Niger,” he added.

Ghazal said that he is “happy to return to the national team” after being absent for a long time hoping that he would maintain his current form and always be part of Aguirre’s starting squad.

In addition to being a hardcore football fan, Abdelrahman is a communications enthusiast who works in marketing, advertising, content creation and PR.
