Hegazi out of Swaziland clash due to yellow cards
The 27 year old has picked up a booking in both AFCON qualifiers so far, both in the disappointing loss to Tunisia and last night’s comprehensive win over Niger.
In general terms, Hegazi’s disciplinary record for Egypt is relatively good as he has picked up just five bookings in his 49 appearances for the national team, as well as receiving no red cards for Egypt.
For his club, West Bromwich Albion, Hegazi has a similar overall discplinary record having only picked up five bookings since joining from Al Ahly last summer.
It looks likely that Egypt’s centre back partnership against Swaziland will be the experienced Ali Gabr next to Baher Elmohamady of Ismaily who made his international debut where he was able to keep the prolific Moussa Maazou at bay.
Egypt will face off against Swaziland at home on October 10th, before travelling down south for the return leg three days later.
