Aguirre claims he demanded a big scoreline from players against Niger

Javier Aguirre
manager has revealed his demand from the players to kill off Niger with a big scoreline after their demolition job in Alexandria.

The Pharaohs managed to steamroll Niger at Borg El-Arab stadium, scoring six goals as they aim to recover from their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifier loss against Tunisia.

Speaking at the post-match press conference, Aguirre said: “It’s a good start and a big scoreline is the least from what I demanded from the players.

Aguirre went on to confirm that Egypt are not yet the finished article and that there’s more work to be done.

“The players did not carry out all the instructions given. They were happy with this camp and this helped get a big win but we have to be careful as we may not be able to beat other opponents with such a big scoreline.

“They are all getting along well because they have a good relationship with each other. We’ve only been training for four days, we’ll be better after four years,” concluded the 59-year-old.
