Youssef Srairi to officiate Al Ahly’s tie against Guinea’s Horoya

Tunisian referee has been assigned as match official for Al Ahly’s first leg encounter against Horoya Conakry in the quarterfinal in Guinea on Friday.

The Red Devils were drawn against Horoya AC, with the first-leg taking place in Conakry, Guinea on Friday, September 14, a week before the two sides meet in Egypt.

Al Ahly coach Patrice Carteron named the squad that is set to fly to Guinea on Tuesday. The list did not include Egypt international Marwan Mohsen who will miss out due to injury.

CAF announced that Srairi will be officiating the game as the main referee, with fellow Tunisians Anouar Hmila and Yamen Malloulchi.

Srairi had a previous two experiences with officiating Al Ahly games and both came against Morocco giants Wydad Casablanca. The first game ended with a goalless draw in 2016 while the second saw Al Ahly defeat the Champions League title holders 2-0 in last year’s version in group stages.
