EXCLUSIVE | Al Rayyan to hold talks with Kasimpasa over Trezeguet
The Egypt international has committed his future to Kasimpasa a few weeks ago, signing a three-year contract extension that will keep him at Kasimpasa until 2021.
However, that will not stop Al Rayyan from trying to sign the 23-year-old, as KingFut sources can confirm that the club representatives are currently in Turkey to negotiate a deal.
The Qatari side thought they could just pay $5 million to trigger Trezeguet’s release clause, but when they arrived in Turkey they found out that the release clause was removed from the player’s new contract.
The transfer window in Qatar closes on the 13th of September, meaning that Al Rayyan have still two days to finalize the deal.
Al Rayyan currently sit fifth in the Qatar Stars League after four rounds with eight points, two behind leaders Al Saad.
The most notable names in their squad are Rodrigo Tabata, Sebastián Soria, and Gonzalo Viera, and they are currently being managed by former Boca Juniors coach Rodolfo Arruabarrena.
Trezeguet has been linked with a number of clubs, most notably Inter Milan, Galatasaray, Sevilla, Marseille, and Stuttgart.
He has been with the Kasimpasa since July 2017, making 37 appearances for them, scoring 17 goals while providing eight assists.
The 23-year-old has joined from Anderlecht on an initial loan before signing on a permanent basis after the club activated the player’s release clause.
The former Al Ahly player featured in all four of Kasimpasa’s opening league games this season, helping the club collect 12 points from 12 as they currently sit top of the Turkish Super League.
