EXCLUSIVE | Kasimpasa turn down Al Rayyan offer for Trezeguet
KingFut had exclusively revealed earlier that Al Rayyan representatives were set to travel to Istanbul to hold talks with Kasimpasa over Mahmoud Trezeguet.
The Egypt international had signed a new contract a few weeks ago, and the Turkish club removed the release clause from the player’s new contract.
The Qatari side found out about the removal of the release clause when they arrived in Turkey, as they thought they could just pay $5 million to trigger Trezeguet’s release clause.
Al Rayyan were hoping to pull off a signing in the closing stages of the transfer window, as it shuts on September 13th in Qatar, but Kasimpasa refused to meet with Al Rayyan representatives.
Trezeguet has been linked with a number of clubs, most notably Inter Milan, Galatasaray, Sevilla, Marseille, and Stuttgart.
He has been with the Kasimpasa since July 2017, making 37 appearances for them, scoring 17 goals while providing eight assists.
The 23-year-old has joined from Anderlecht on an initial loan before signing on a permanent basis after the club activated the player’s release clause.
The former Al Ahly player featured in all four of Kasimpasa’s opening league games this season, helping the club collect 12 points from 12 as they currently sit top of the Turkish Super League.
