Trezeguet was on verge of signing for Slavia Prague, says David Pavelka
Kasmipasa Czech midfielder David Pavelka has confirmed that Mahmoud Trezeguet was on the verge of signing for Slavia Prague in last summer’s transfer window.
In an interview with the Czech press, Pavelka has revealed that SK Slavia Prague were very interested in the former Al Ahly winger and also expressed his delight at seeing Trezeguet’s staying at Kasimpasa.
“Slavia Prague were very interested in Trezeguet during the transfer period. Many teams were interested. Trezeguet expected the best offer in summer,” Pavelka said.
“He decided to stay at Kasimpasa when the offers he expected were not coming, and of course it was better for us.
“He was constantly on the phone and on the internet during training. Yes, Slavia made an offer, but it was not good enough for him,” Pavelka added.
Trezeguet had also been on the radar of Inter Milan, Galatasaray, Sevilla, Marseille, and Stuttgart, however, he made the decision to stay at Kasimpasa at the end, signing a new three-year contract, which will keep him at the club until 2021.
Trezeguet featured in all four of Kasimpasa’s opening league games this season, helping the club collect 12 points from 12 as they currently sit top of the Turkish Super League.
