Carteron targets a positive away result against Horoya
Al Ahly manager Patrice Carteron has stated he got a well experienced team under his hand, emphasizing on the importance of respecting Horoya AC ahead of their clash in CAF Champions League quarterfinal on Friday.
Al Ahly had finished their campaign in the African competitions Group A as group winners after pulling off an impressive comeback, winning their last four encounters after collecting only one point from the first two to occupy the leadership with 13 points.
“We will play on Friday without any calculations. Horoya is a strong side but our goal is clear which is to win the Champions League, therefore we have to beat Horoya,” Carteron said in pre-match press conference.
“I followed Horoya’s games in group stages. We have an experienced team to a great extent, we play games according to our opponents and we have to be at our best tomorrow.”
“Horoya reached the quarterfinal of the Champions League so we have to respect them. They play collectively and can come back into a game’s result after going down which shows that they got a fighting spirit and desire.”
