We need huge support in second-leg, says Patrice Carteron
Al Ahly drew 0-0 away with Guinean side Horoya in the first-leg of the CAF Champions League quarter-finals.
The Red Devils were the more dominant side and had a couple of scoring chances through Salah Mohsen and Walid Azaro, but they find the back of the net.
Carteron talked about his team’s performance as well as the second-leg, which Al Ahly must win if they want to qualify for the semi-finals.
“We didn’t take advantage of all the opportunities we had. A draw is an acceptable result but I was hoping for a better result,” Carteron said.
“The game could’ve been different if we took advantage of our opportunities.
“I don’t recall any opportunities for Horoya. The pitch was really bad and we’ll start preparing for the second leg from now.
“We’ll try to take advantage of the opportunities we get,” he added.
The Frenchman then made sure to give a message to all the Al Ahly fans, saying: “We need you in the second leg to qualify for the next round.
“CAF Champions League games are decided depending on the support of the fans and not technical aspects,” he concluded.
The Red Devils will face Horoya in the second leg at El-Salam stadium on Saturday, September 22.
