Sam Morsy red card overturned following Wigan Athletic appeal
Wigan Athletic midfielder Sam Morsy won a red-card appeal and will be free for his side’s next encounter against Hull City in the Championship.
Sam Morsy received a red card, as Wigan lost to Bradford 2-0, in the 58th minute when the Latics were 1-0 down following a clash of heads with Yoann Barbet.
Head coach Paul Cook said after the match that he doesn’t think Morsy deserved to be sent off and that his club will appeal the decision, which turned successful as the Football Association ‘FA’ approved the appeal and will let the Latics captain play against Hull City.
Wigan are currently 11th in the Championship with 10 points from seven games and their next game will be against 17th-placed Hull City on Tuesday.
