have picked up a staggering 92-16 win over underdogs in the African Youth Championship.

Following early wins in the opening games against Nigeria and Morocco by more conventional scorelines of 30-17 and 32-17, Egypt have continued their fine form by battering lowly Mauritania 92-16.

Meanwhile, Mauritania started their campaign with a 10-0 forfeit loss to Morocco before letting their heads drop to lose 82-7 to Algeria and 78-15 to Guinea.

The form for both sides continued as Egypt effectively put the tie to bed in the first half as they went into the break with a 38-7 lead.

While Mauritania were out of it, Egypt continued with relentless pressure to add another 54 points while Mauritania continued at the same rate by getting another 8, as the game finished 92-16.

The result means that Egypt continue their 100% win rate, something only Tunisia have matched so far. This comes as little surprise as Egypt and Tunisia are the traditional powerhouses of African handball and, since the youth competition started, six of the seven finals have been between the two sides.

Egypt’s next game will be against Guinea, who have started with two wins and a loss.
