Al Ahly defender Ayman Ashraf speaks ahead of Horoya game
Al Ahly player Ayman Ashraf assured that his team is not only looking to defeat Horoya but aiming to snatch the CAF Champions League title and return to the Club World Cup.
After a goal-less draw in the first leg game in Conakry, the Red Devil will be fighting to beat Horoya in the second leg of the CAF Champions League quarterfinals on Saturday.
“Facing Horoya will be tough because they are a strong opponent and their squad includes special players,” Ayman Ashraf told the press before the game. “This is the same opinion our coach Patrice Carteron has about them.”
“We watched clips of the team from the first leg a number of times to fully understand their style before we meet them again.
“We are now completely ready for the game. Our team realizes that Horoya players are eager to win but we believe our aspirations are bigger since we want to reach the final match, win the title and eventually return to the Club World Cup, which is our ultimate dream,” the 27-year-old player added.
Al Ahly will be missing a number of key players including Saad Samir, Mohamed Naguib, Marwan Mohsen, Amr El-Sulaya and Mido Gaber due to injury.
