Al Ahly focused on Al Nejmeh clash, says boss Patrice Carteron

Al Ahly head coach pointed out that his team is now preparing for their next game against Al Nejmeh in the Arab Club Championship after successfully beating Guinean side Horoya AC in the CAF Champions League.

The Red Devils were able to qualify to the CAF Champions League semi-finals after defeating Horoya AC 4-0. They will now face Algerian side ES Sétif in the next round.

“We’re doing well in tournaments we’re taking part in and starting now we will be fully focused on facing Al Nejmeh,” Carteron told Al Ahly media center after Horoya AC match.

The Egyptian champions were held to a goalless draw by Lebanese side Al Nejmeh in the  in Alexandria. Both sides will meet again for the second leg of the round of 32 in Lebanon on September 27.

“I respect all our opponents in all of the tournaments we’re competing in, regardless if they’re local, Arab or African opponents” he added. “We are concentrated on our match against Al Nejmeh which is being well prepared for by fully studying them.”

The French coach also addressed the presence of fans during the Champions League match saying that having fans in the stands should always be the norm.

“Our team plays for those fans and on a personal level, I am really happy that fans attended our game against Horoya AC,” he said.

In addition to being a hardcore football fan, Abdelrahman is a communications enthusiast who works in marketing, advertising, content creation and PR.
