Al Ahly forward Salah Mohsen promises fans with Champions League title
The 20-year-old’s name was on the scoresheet as Al Ahly beat Guinean side Horoya AC 4-0 on Saturday to qualify for the semi-final of the CAF Champions League.
Al Ahly will now face Algerian side ES Sétif in the semis, and Mohsen believes his side have what it takes to win the African championship.
“The away game against Horoya was tough and we wasted a lot of chances but we managed to score four goals in the second leg,” Mohsen said.
“Our goal is to win the CAF Champions League title and we are going to do so.
“I thank the Al Ahly fans for their support and we promise them that we will win the title,” he added.
The Reds will host ES Sétif for the first-leg on October 2, before travelling to face them on October 23 at Stade du 8 Mai 1945.
Eight-time record winners Al Ahly haven’t won the trophy since 2013 when they beat Orlando Pirates 3-1 on aggregate in the final.
