Ahmed El-Sheikh returns as Al Ahly name squad for Al Nejmeh clash

Al Ahly manager Patrice Carteron has named his squad that will face Lebanese side Al Nejmeh SC in the first round of the Arab Club Championship.

The first-leg in Cairo ended in a 0-0 draw, with the second one taking place in Beirut on Thursday, September 27.

Carteron decided to exclude a number of key players following the club’s qualification to the semi-final of the CAF Champions League on Saturday.

Saad Samir, and Mohamed Naguib were omitted from the squad, leaving the final squad with no centre backs apart from Salif Coulibay.

Mido Gaber, Amr El-Sulya, Bassem Ali, and Marwan Mohsen were also left out of the squad due to injuries.

On the other hand, and Mohamed Sherif returned to the squad alongside Ahmed Hamdy, Karim Nedved, and Akram Tawfik.

Full squad:

Goalkeepers: Sherif Ekramy, Mohamed El-Shennawy, Ali Lotfy.

Defenders: Ahmed Fathi, Mohamed Hany, Salif Coulibaly, Ayman Ashraf, Ali Maaloul, Sabry Rahil.

Midfielders: Hossam Ashour, Hesham Mohamed, Karim Nedved, Ahmed Hamdy, Islam Mohareb, Walid Soliman, Momen Zakaria, Ahmed Hamoudi, Akram Tawfik, Ahmed El-Sheikh, and Mohamed Sherif.

Forwards: Salah Mohsen, Walid Azaro.

    Where is KingFut’s article about El Masry Port Said passing the Quarterfinals in the Confederation Cup after winning the second tie against USM Alger in Algeria?

    Whole KingFut Team only interested in El Ahly and Zamalek…
    No respect for other egyptian teams. That’s very sad
