Nogoom FC appoint Ahmed Samy as their new manager
The newly promoted side announced on September 15th that Antonio Calderon left his managerial role as the Spaniard had to travel back to his home country for personal reasons.
This is Nogoom’s fourth managerial change in their first ever season in the top flight after Diaa El-Sayed, Alaa Hesballah, and Antonio Calderon all took over the club in the space of less than two months.
Chairman Mohamed Altawila confirmed Samy’s appointment on radio station ON Sport FM, saying: “Ahmed Samy will be taking over the club for the upcoming period this season.”
Samy will be facing a tough task of turning things around as Nogoom are currently 17th in the Egyptian Premier League table with just six points in eight games.
The former Tala’a El-Geish manager’s first game in charge will be against Entag El-Harby on Sunday. Kick-off is set to take place 16:00 GMT.
