Martin Keown questions the cause of Salah’s form
Former Arsenal defender Martin Keown has questioned the cause of Salah’s relatively poor form after a frustrating day at his former club Chelsea.
While Liverpool picked up a solid 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge, it could have been a win if Mohamed Salah had his shooting boots on.
Martin Keown, one of the most well renowned pundits in England, has given his verdict on the Egyptian.
Keown said, “He’s a wonderful talent – we know that – but something is just not quite right with him,” he told Match of the Day. Was it the injury he had last season?”.
“He was still an incredible threat through the match with the pace and trickery he has. I think be patient but maybe it is belief, maybe it is form. You wouldn’t want to tell someone like that how to finish but he could do with the confidence.”
Salah has a big week ahead of him and a good chance to find his form as Liverpool travel to Napoli in midweek for their second Champions League group stage game before a huge match next Sunday against title rivals Manchester City at Anfield.
